No,we don't do first-term discounting

(Sorry, not sorry)

Here’s the thing:

We want to offer pricing that is, firstly, competitive. And secondly, we want our pricing to be transparent, easy to understand and therefore easy to budget.

First-term discount offers (half-price — even free — for the first year) don’t come without binding agreements for subsequent years’ pricing.

You end up paying more in the long-run.

Our pricing model

Our pricing model is simpler and, ultimately, cheaper. You pay in Years 2 and 3 what you pay in Year 1 (allowing for market pricing adjustments).

No misleading faux-discounting. No recovery pricing. No lock-in commitments.

Just a good, competitive, up-front, easy-to-understand price.

We've done some comparsion shopping for you:

Our tips for domain name selection

Your domain name is how people find you on the internet. It’s also how people remember you. Choosing the right domain name can have a direct impact on how easily people find you, how well you rank in seach engine results pages, and how closely it aligns with your brand.

Make it memorable

Keep it short and simple. This aids retention. You want people to be able to dial in your domain quickly and easily; the shorter it is, the more likely people are to get it right.

Make it easy to spell

Awkward or unusual spellings might trip people up or, worse, make you look ignorant. Unless you have a very good reason, spell it how it's meant to be spelt.

Consider brand and positioning

If you're a business targeting local customers, it makes sense to include your city or region in your domain name. Google rewards specificity.

Avoid adding hyphens

If you can't secure your ideal domain name, you may be tempted to add a hyphen. Look at other avenues first. Adding a hyphen is not intuitive for most users, and likely confuses your domain with the un-hyphenated domain.

Be decisive

Don't take the attitude "it'll do for now". This is one of many steps in your digital journey: you want to get it right and there's value in sticking with it for the long term.

Leverage your domain

Choosing the right domain extension can highlight some of your key brand attributes: a .AU domain, for instance, clearly shows you're doing business in Australia. This can help you stand out from the more generic .com crowd.

Secure your domain now

01

Step 1

Use our search tool (below) to check if your preferred domain name is available.

02

Step 2

If your chosen domain is available click the "Select" button. You will be taken to our Shopping Cart.

03

Step 3

You can choose to add other domain extensions to your shopping cart to protect the integrity of your brand.

04

Step 4

We have to do this manually. As such these domains take longer to process. Please allow up to six hours for approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Domains

  • Can I register any domain?

There are certain domain extensions (called unrestricted gTLDs) that anyone can register. These include the extensions .com, .net, .info and .org. Many of the “new” domain extensions such as .store, .social, .online and so on similarly don’t have any specific registration requirements.

The group of domain extensions known as country specific domains generally do require you to meet some form of registration criteria. These criteria can differ from country to country. In Australia, for example, the registration of a domain using the .com.au extension requires, firstly, proof that the registration is for some kind of business entity (proof is usually an ABN or ACN number) and that the domain name you are seeking to register has a significant connection with your business.

Please see our knowledgebase article for more information on the specific requirement of .AU domains.

  • How long does it take to register a domain?

Most common domain registrations are almost immediate and you will receive confirmation of your registration to your nominated email address within minutes.

Certain domain extenstions — notably .id.au and .asn.au — require manual review and registration and confirmation may take several hours. Please be patient as we review your registration information.

Other country-specific domains may also require manual review. You will be notified if this is the case at the time of registration.

  • Should I register more than one domain name?

Some businesses elect to register their domain name across several domain extensions to protect their brand.

For example, an Australian business called ExamplesRUs might seek to register examplesrus.com.au as well as examplesrus.com (and, perhaps, assuming they’re an online store, examplesrus.store) to protect their brand against domain poaching or squatting by a competitor.

No, that doesn’t mean you need to create three websites; in such instances, it is common to redirect any additional domains to the one where your website lives. This is a seamless experience for the user and does not affect your Google ranking at all.

  • What’s the best domain name for me?

The best domain name should mirror your business name or brand.

It may be that your ideal domain name has already been registered; in this instance, you will need to think more laterally and find a word or phrase that lengthens or abbreviates your brand name, or hints at your business promise in a memorable manner.
